No fewer than 10 vessels have berthed at the Lekki Deep Sea Port, Tin Can Island Port and Apapa Port in Lagos, awaiting discharge of various consignments, including bulk urea, general cargo, containers, aviation fuel, diesel and crude oil.
This was disclosed by the Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA, in its latest Shipping Position report on Friday.
According to the report, an additional 38 ships carrying petroleum products, food commodities and assorted goods are scheduled to arrive at the three ports between February 20 and February 28.
The NPA said the incoming vessels are laden with items such as bulk wheat, beans, crude oil, empty containers, bulk urea, aviation fuel, blended stock, bulk clinker, diesel, bulk gas and containerised cargo of various descriptions.
The authority noted that the steady flow of vessels emphasises ongoing maritime activities across Lagos ports, as preparations continue for cargo handling and distribution.
