The Romi community in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State has commended Governor Uba Sani for what they described as an inclusive approach to governance, noting that his administration has shown fairness to all ethnic and religious groups in the state.

Their remarks followed the recent contract award and flag-off of the long-abandoned Romi-Karatudu road project by the Governor.

In a statement released in Kaduna and signed by the Chairman of the Romi Community, Mallam Yakubu Ali, who is also the Garkuwan Lusawa Romi, the community leaders expressed satisfaction with Governor Sani’s developmental drive, particularly his focus on rural transformation through road and bridge construction.

According to the statement, the resumption of work on the Romi-Karatudu road marks a landmark intervention that would remain memorable in the history of the area. The leaders recalled that the project was first initiated during the administration of the late Governor Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa but was abandoned after his death until Governor Sani took steps to revive it.

They pointed out that reconstructing the road and the major bridges linking the two communities demonstrates the Governor’s commitment to balanced development across Kaduna State.

The community leaders further praised the administration’s role in promoting peace and fostering social harmony, observing that the Governor’s Sustain Agenda has brought a renewed sense of calm and stability to the state.

While pledging continued support for the administration, the Romi community appealed to Governor Sani to grant them a solidarity visit, where members of the community intend to personally convey their gratitude and formally endorse his continuity in office beyond 2027.
