How Peter Obi, Others Escaped Plane Crash Today
…Private jet suffers engine failure midair
Labour Party 2023 presidential candidate and former Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi, narrowly escaped what could have been a devastating plane crash today, alongside his aides and a few associates.
The incident occurred when the private jet conveying Obi from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja to Enugu reportedly developed a mechanical fault midair, causing panic among passengers.
Sources close to Obi confirmed that the aircraft began to experience violent vibrations and a sudden drop in cabin pressure minutes after takeoff. The pilot immediately declared an emergency and made a successful emergency landing back in Abuja. “It was a terrifying experience,” one eyewitness said. “Everyone on board was shaken, but we’re grateful to God that no life was lost.”
Peter Obi, known for his calm composure, was said to have remained visibly calm, comforting fellow passengers and praying silently during the ordeal. After the aircraft landed safely, he briefly addressed the situation, saying: “We thank God for His protection. It’s a reminder that life is fragile. I urge the aviation authorities to investigate and ensure better safety checks on our aircraft.”
Though details are still emerging, insiders confirmed that the private aircraft has since been grounded, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has been alerted for a full investigation into the incident.
The Labour Party has yet to issue an official statement as of the time of this report, but party members and supporters have taken to social media, thanking God for sparing Obi’s life.
This is not the first time Peter Obi has survived a close brush with danger while on political or humanitarian duty. Many of his followers now refer to him as “The People’s Project who must not be harmed.”
Meanwhile, aviation analysts have again raised concerns about the airworthiness of several private jets operating in Nigeria, calling for stricter enforcement of safety protocols and regular inspections.
