Chieftains and key stakeholders of the Labour Party (LP) have held a high-level strategic meeting, adopting far-reaching resolutions aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, which took place virtually on Thursday, August 7, 2025, brought together prominent party leaders and political heavyweights. A statement released on Friday by Ken Asogwa, Senior Special Adviser (Media) to the Interim National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, confirmed the details of the gathering.
During the session, LP chieftains reaffirmed their commitment to deepening democratic ideals in Nigeria and passed a unanimous vote of confidence on Senator Usman’s leadership.
“The meeting unanimously commended the interim leadership of Senator Nenadi Usman and passed a resounding vote of confidence in her stewardship as Interim National Chairman,” the statement read in part.
The stakeholders also resolved to intensify efforts toward strengthening democratic institutions, promoting unity within the party, and ensuring that the Labour Party remains a formidable political force ahead of 2027.
