The Ekiti State Magistrate Court has ordered the remand of a man identified as Ibrahim for allegedly killing his daughter’s boyfriend in Ado Ekiti.
The incident occurred when the deceased, whose name was not immediately released, visited his girlfriend at her father’s home near the popular Corpers’ Lodge along New Iyin Road.
Reports indicate that the father, angered by the relationship, allegedly enlisted the help of his siblings to attack the young man. The victim sustained severe injuries during the assault and later died from excessive bleeding.
The Ekiti State Police Command confirmed the arrest and arraignment of the suspects. Police Public Relations Officer Sunday Abutu told journalists: “The girl’s father and two other suspects have been arraigned and remanded in prison.”
The court has directed that the accused remain in custody while investigations continue, pending further legal proceedings.
The case has sparked outrage in Ado Ekiti, bringing renewed focus to the increasing number of violent domestic disputes in the state.
