The city of Jos is set to be ignited with faith, music, and cultural splendour as the highly anticipated Plateau Unity Carols & Praise Festival begins this Friday, November 28th. Final preparations are in top gear for what promises to be one of the largest Christian celebrations in the country.
The three-day festival, scheduled for November 28–30, marks the second edition under the leadership of Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, and is jointly organised by the Plateau State Government and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
This year’s edition will host an extraordinary lineup of national icons. Special Guests of Honour include:
Gen. Dr. Yakubu Gowon, GCFR, NNOM — former Head of State
General Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, NNOM — former President of Nigeria
Hon. Hannatu Musa Musawa, ESQ — Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy
The festival will also feature powerful spiritual ministrations from:
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, GCON — former Vice President of Nigeria
Dr. Paul Enenche — Senior Pastor, Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja
Adding colour to the event is a rich musical experience anchored by a massive 300-trumpeter ensemble and some of Nigeria’s biggest gospel music sensations, including Sinach (Osinachi Kalu Okoro Egbu) and Buchi Atuonwu. They will share the stage with Plateau indigenous choirs, choristers from Abuja, Hausa singers from Katsina, and other guest ministers.
A special cultural highlight will be children’s performances rendering the Christmas story in various Plateau dialects, showcasing unity in diversity and affirming the state’s rich heritage.
Guided by the theme “Plateau United in Praise,” the festival will hold daily at the Ten Commandments Prayer Altar, Jos, beginning at 3:00 PM from Friday, November 28th to Sunday, November 30th.
Organisers say the festival is positioned to become a signature Christmas-season event in Nigeria, offering an atmosphere of worship, joy, and shared identity to thousands of expected attendees.
