The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of a young woman identified as Esther Akwaji, following circumstances surrounding her visit to her alleged boyfriend’s residence.

According to a source who spoke with LIB, the deceased, a resident of Nasarawa State, was visiting family members in the FCT. She reportedly left the family house on January 21 to visit a bank in Dei-Dei, but never returned.

Family members were later contacted through Esther’s phone by a man who claimed to be her boyfriend. He alleged that Esther had visited him at his residence, where he bought food for them to eat. He said that while they were eating, Esther suddenly began vomiting.
The man further claimed he rushed her to Kubwa General Hospital, where doctors confirmed her dead.

However, he reportedly fled the hospital immediately after the incident and has remained unreachable since then.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said the police have commenced investigations into the matter. She disclosed that the deceased’s body has been deposited at the morgue for autopsy, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspect.

The police assured the public that no stone would be left unturned in unraveling the circumstances surrounding the young woman’s death.
