Ambassador Yohana Margif Laid to Rest Last Saturday
Former Plateau State Labour Party governorship candidate, Chief Dr. Ambassador Yohana Yilpwan Margif, who passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, was laid to rest last Saturday, January 24, 2026, in his hometown.
His remains were conveyed from the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) to Margif in Mushere Chiefdom, Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, where the burial ceremony and final interment took place.
Family members, political associates, community leaders, friends, and well-wishers gathered to pay their final respects to the late politician and community leader.
A Christian wake-keep was earlier held in his honour at his residence, No. 22 Unity Close, New Abuja Phase One, Jos, ahead of the burial.
Late Ambassador Margif reportedly died after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wives, children, grandchildren, and other relatives.
During his lifetime, he served as a Special Assistant to former Plateau State Governor, Senator Joshua Dariye, and was widely recognised as a philanthropist, peace advocate, and community leader whose influence cut across ethnic, political, and religious boundaries.
Since his passing and burial, tributes have continued to pour in from individuals, political leaders, business associates, groups, and organisations, describing him as a detribalised Nigerian, generous in spirit, courageous in conviction, and steadfast in his commitment to service and philanthropy.
Many have noted that his legacy of mentorship, compassion, and community development will continue to endure.
