Mystery Deepens as Woman’s Property Is Evicted in Absentia in Jos
A cloud of mystery now surrounds the whereabouts of Oruta Cynthia Happiness, whose rented apartment in the Low Cost area of Jos, opposite Rantya High School, was on Wednesday February 4, 2026 subjected to eviction in absentia following a due court judgment.
Headlineswave.ng observed the eviction exercise after a court order was executed on the premises. Although the court officials declined permission for photographs of the judgment document, this medium confirmed that the order was based on claims that the tenant had allegedly failed to pay rent for over four years and had remained incommunicado throughout that period.
During the eviction, all the household items were removed from the apartment, including a full living room furniture set, television, kitchen utensils, beds and bedding, clothing, refrigerator, deep freezer, and other household appliances.
However, despite the removal of these items, Headlineswave observed that many of the properties showed signs of vandalisation, particularly the television set, refrigerator, and other appliances, raising further questions about events preceding the eviction.
Inside the apartment, there were indications of previous human activity, including washed clothes spread within the room.
There were also clues suggesting that the occupant may be a nurse, deepening the mystery surrounding her prolonged absence.
Further findings by Headlineswave revealed photographs belonging to the woman, as well as a funeral poster of her late father, a traditional chief from Oruta. Finbarr Odo. The poster clearly displayed the family’s country home address, confirming her identity and family background.

This development has sparked public concern and unanswered questions:
Where is Oruta Cynthia Happiness?
Is she alive or deceased?
If she truly travelled for four years, where did she go, and why was there no communication?
Why were her belongings left intact yet vandalised?
As of the time of filing this report, no official confirmation has been provided regarding her whereabouts.
Efforts to reach family members or associates are ongoing.

Headlineswave.ng will continue to follow this developing story and provide updates as more facts emerge.
