Former presidential spokesman, Reno Omokri, has reacted to his appointment as Nigeria’s ambassador to Mexico by President Bola Tinubu.
President Tinubu on Friday approved the official postings of 65 ambassadors-designate to Nigeria’s diplomatic missions across the world, including the United Nations.
The list comprises 31 career diplomats and 34 non-career ambassadors whose nominations were earlier confirmed by the Senate in December 2025
Reacting to the development, Omokri expressed gratitude to the President in a video shared on his X handle.
According to him, he was overwhelmed with joy upon learning about the appointment.
“On day one of my climb in Kilimanjaro, I found out that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed me as the Nigerian ambassador to the Mexican city otherwise known as Mexico.
“Mr President, I am very grateful and I thank you for this. I am overwhelmed with joy and I promise to be faithful, loyal and honest to Nigeria and to the custodian of the Nigerian Constitution you, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Omokri said.
