A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Muhammad Musa Zango Fatah, has said that recent developments in Nigeria’s gas sector are helping to reposition the country among the world’s leading gas producers.

Dr Fatah made the remark while speaking with journalists at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Press Centre in Kano on Monday.

He said ongoing reforms and policies under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly those tied to the Renewed Hope Agenda, are aimed at strengthening key sectors of the economy, including energy and natural resources.

According to him, developments in the gas sector are beginning to reflect the impact of policies intended to expand Nigeria’s energy capacity and improve its position in the global gas market.

“Today it clearly shows that the achievements around the gas revolution are phenomenal and have reprojected Nigeria as a leading gas producer in the world,” he said.

“The President Tinubu policies and programmes, particularly those that have to do with the Renewed Hope Agenda, are designed to reposition the economy for sustainable growth, strengthen national security and promote development across all sectors of human endeavour,” he added.

According to him, economic reforms often come with short-term challenges but are aimed at building a more resilient economy over time.

“While reforms may come with some temporary challenges, they remain necessary steps toward building a stronger, more resilient and prosperous Nigeria for the present and future generations,” he stated.
