Sokoto Court Sentences Kidnapper to Death Over Killing of Three Resident
A Sokoto State High Court has sentenced Ibrahim Usman, also known as Dan Iyali, to death following his conviction in a case involving kidnapping and the killing of three residents.
The case was prosecuted by the Department of State Services (DSS) and involved charges including criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and culpable homicide punishable with death.
According to the DSS, the case arose from the kidnapping and killing of three people in Sokoto State in September 2023. Other suspects linked to the case were reportedly still at large.
The conviction represents another instance in which the authorities have taken a kidnapping case through the judicial process rather than ending the matter at the point of arrest.
