“From Prayer to Control: The Disturbing Rise of Abba’s Heart Ministry’s Minid Ganes
In a time when Nigerians are turning to God for hope and direction, a shadow is creeping through the cracks of trust — cloaked in scripture, shrouded in secrecy, and powered by manipulation. The so-called Abba’s Heart Ministry, an online prayer group once celebrated for its spiritual passion, is now at the center of a storm that should concern every Nigerian — especially those with daughters, sisters, or friends in desperate search of purpose.
Multiple families have raised alarm bells over the mysterious transformations and disappearances of their loved ones who joined the group — now being likened to a digital cult.
From Followers to Ghosts
The ministry, led by one Joy Solomon (also known as Joy Irokwe), operated predominantly through Instagram, inviting young women into intense prayer sessions. What seemed like innocent spiritual mentoring turned into a dark web of control.

Reports allege that members were persuaded to:
- Quit their jobs
- Sell their possessions
- Donate assets as “seeds” to the ministry
- Cut ties with family and friends
- Disappear without trace
In one disturbing case, a young woman named Ejiro, a fashion entrepreneur behind the brand @StyleByEjiro, reportedly shut down her business, went off-grid, and became unreachable — all after deep involvement with the group.
“We were also victims,” says Taiye Adekanmi, a former leader within the ministry. He claims his family was rendered homeless for seven months after being manipulated into relinquishing their property.
Where is the Shepherd?
As the firestorm grew, Joy Solomon deleted her social media pages and has since gone silent — offering no explanation or apology. The disappearance of women linked to the group continues to spark concern, with many now calling it “a cult in disguise.”
Wake Up, Nigeria!
This is a wake-up call to every Nigerian, especially the youth hungry for spiritual identity. While prayer is powerful, discernment is critical. Not every “prophet” is genuine. Not every “ministry” is godly. When teachings demand silence, isolation, or financial submission without accountability — run! That is spiritual manipulation, not salvation.
Be vigilant. Question strange doctrines. Talk to your loved ones. And above all — pray with your eyes wide open.
Romans 10:17 reminds us: “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” But God never asked us to abandon wisdom, family, or common sense.
