KWAM 1’s No-Fly Ban Reduced to One Month, All Criminal Charges Withdrawn – Set to Become FAAN Aviation Security Ambassador

In a surprising turn of events, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reduced the no-fly ban imposed on Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as KWAM 1, from six months to just one month.

All criminal charges earlier filed against the musician over his alleged obstruction of flight operations at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, have also been officially withdrawn.

According to credible aviation sources, FAAN is now set to appoint KWAM 1 as an Ambassador for Aviation Security Protocol, a move that has sparked mixed reactions among Nigerians.

The development comes barely a week after KWAM 1 was accused of storming the airport tarmac and preventing a ValueJet aircraft from taking off — an action many aviation experts described as a serious breach of security.

While some see the appointment as a step towards using his influence to promote compliance with airport regulations, others argue it sends the wrong signal about accountability and equality before the law. This latest decision is expected to generate heated debate in the coming days, especially within Nigeria’s aviation and legal circles.
