Airtel Nigeria has unveiled a new WhatsApp self-service platform, Airtel Assist, designed to allow customers to carry out a wide range of transactions at any time of the day.

The Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria, Mr Dinesh Balsingh, announced the launch in Lagos on Thursday, describing it as a major step in using technology to enhance customer convenience.

“With Airtel Assist, we are leveraging technology to serve real people with real needs in real-time. It is fast, secure, and always available,” Balsingh said.

According to him, the service enables customers to check balances, purchase airtime or data, make payments, resolve network issues, and receive personalised assistance directly through a WhatsApp chat.

Airtel’s Director of Marketing, Mr Ismail Adeshina, explained that the platform was built to simplify everyday transactions and save customers time.

“Everything about Airtel Assist is designed to help customers get things done quickly and easily. Whether it is checking a data balance mid-conversation, buying data on the move, or resolving a problem late at night, Airtel Assist is always ready,” he stated.

Adeshina noted that customers can begin using Airtel Assist by sending a WhatsApp message to +2348028800000 or by accessing the link provided on Airtel’s official platforms.
