Aisha Yesufu Sends Strong Message to ADC Members After Peter Obi’s Move

Prominent activist and political commentator, Aisha Yesufu, has called on members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to take advantage of the party’s internal democratic structure following the recent political move involving Peter Obi.

In a message circulating on social media, Yesufu urged registered members of the party not to miss what she described as a rare opportunity to directly influence candidate selection within the party.

According to her, every registered member of the ADC automatically becomes a delegate in the party’s system—unlike what she described as the “dollarized delegate system” often associated with other political parties.

“Every ADC registered member is a delegate! You have cried for years over a dollarized delegate system and now you have the opportunity to be a delegate and ensure your candidates get the tickets and you are not taking it?” she wrote.

She encouraged supporters and party faithful to immediately register through the party’s official portal to participate in the process.

“Go to adcregistration.ng and register,” she added, stressing that grassroots participation is the only way to guarantee credible candidates emerge in future elections.

Yesufu’s message comes amid heightened political discussions surrounding the possible alignment of opposition forces ahead of the 2027 elections, particularly following renewed political movements involving Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party (Nigeria).

Her call has sparked conversations online, with many supporters debating the importance of mass registration and participation in party structures as a strategy to reshape Nigeria’s political landscape.
