I’m Obidient, But I Support an Atiku-Obi Alliance in 2027 – Here’s Why

By: An Obidient for Strategic Change

I was among the millions of young Nigerians who poured out their hearts, hopes, and voices for Peter Obi in 2023. I chanted “we no dey give shishi!” and stood under the sun to defend our votes. We believed then—and many still believe now—that Peter Obi represents a new Nigeria: clean, competent, and compassionate leadership.

But today, as I reflect on the realities of Nigerian politics and the pain of missed opportunities, I’ve come to one conclusion: we need to be strategic, not sentimental. And that might mean supporting an Atiku-Obi alliance in 2027.

It’s Not a Step Down—It’s a Step Forward

Let’s be honest—Obi running as Vice President to Atiku is not a betrayal. It’s a chess move. Power isn’t always grabbed in one bold stroke. Sometimes, you win the game by making a strategic sacrifice. If joining Atiku gives Obi the best chance to lead this country in 2031, why not take it?

Let’s remember: Obi was Vice Presidential candidate under Atiku in 2019. If they reunite with a clearer agreement—say, a one-term presidency for Atiku and a smooth handover to Obi—that could be the masterstroke that ends APC’s rule.

The Goal Has Always Been to Rescue Nigeria

We didn’t start the Obidient movement to worship Peter Obi. We started it because we’re tired of failed leadership. We want working schools, functioning hospitals, uninterrupted power, jobs, dignity, and hope. If we can get that by forming an alliance, then let’s do it.

We can’t let pride stop progress.

Obidients Are the X-Factor—Let’s Use Our Power Wisely

We proved in 2023 that we’re not just online noise—we’re a political force. But now, we must evolve. We must understand when to fight alone and when to join forces. Nigeria is worth the compromise if the compromise leads to change.

Let’s not repeat the mistake of a divided opposition. Let’s not hand 2027 to Tinubu on a platter again.

Final Thought: What Matters Most?

Would you rather have Obi as a VP with a clear path to the presidency and a role in rebuilding Nigeria—or keep waiting for the “perfect” revolution while APC continues to dismantle the country?

This is not the time for emotional politics. This is the time for intelligent patriotism.

I’m still Obidient. But more importantly, I’m Nigerian. And I want to see Nigeria win—by any peaceful, strategic means necessary.
