The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has declared a decisive crackdown on insecurity, promising that his administration will take firm action to restore peace across the state.

In a statement signed by the Governor’s Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Solomon Iorpev, the governor said security personnel had been successfully deployed and reinforced in troubled communities in Kwande and other affected local government areas.

Governor Alia commended security agencies for their commitment and efforts in stabilising the affected communities.

He stressed that those responsible for violent attacks and other security breaches would be apprehended and prosecuted.

According to him, the latest reinforcement of security operatives marks the beginning of a broader strategy aimed at ending insecurity in the state.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to pursue criminals threatening the peace of Benue, assuring residents that their safety, livelihoods and farmlands remain a top priority.

He added that his government would not be discouraged by attempts from criminal elements to destabilise communities, insisting that perpetrators of violence would face the full weight of the law.

Governor Alia also reassured residents that his administration remains fully committed to securing lives and property across the state.

“Let this be a warning to all perpetrators of insecurity: Governor Alia will not be intimidated. I will not be deterred. I will crush insecurity in Benue State,” he declared.
