Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has called on National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members to demonstrate dedication and selflessness in serving their assigned communities. The appeal was made during the closing ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream I orientation course at the NYSC camp in Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area.

Represented by Mr. Philip Nongu, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youths Development, the governor commended the corps members for their disciplined behavior and active participation throughout the orientation program. He urged them to maintain the same standard of conduct at their places of primary assignment, cautioning against actions that could bring disrepute to their families or the nation.

State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Veronica Garba, lauded the corps members for their engagement and discipline during the camp. She reminded them of their duty to serve selflessly and leave a positive impact in their host communities.

“Respect the cultures and traditions of your host communities and make the most of your service year by gaining experiences that will shape your future,” Garba advised. She emphasized that the corps members should avoid actions that could tarnish the image of the NYSC while striving to integrate effectively into their communities.
