Ballot Box, BVAS Machines Retrieved From APC National Vice Chairman Mustapha Salihu’s Vehicle During Adamawa By-Election

Headlineswave.ng reports that tension erupted during the Adamawa State by-election on Saturday after security operatives recovered a ballot box and Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) machines from a vehicle allegedly belonging to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman (North-East), Mustapha Salihu.

The recovery was reportedly made possible after Adamawa youths and voters raised an alarm, suspecting irregular movement of electoral materials. Their swift intervention drew the attention of security personnel, who acted promptly and retrieved the sensitive materials from the vehicle.

The incident has sparked outrage among opposition parties and civil society groups, who are demanding an immediate investigation into how the election materials were diverted.

As of press time, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has not issued an official statement on the matter, while the APC leadership has also remained silent. The development has, however, further heightened political tension in the state, with voters insisting on transparency and fairness in the ongoing by-election.
