An improvised explosive device, IED, suspected to have been planted by bandits detonated early Wednesday along the Gusau–Funtua highway.
This was disclosed by security analyst Bakastine on Wednesday.
The explosion occurred between Kuceri and Magazu villages in Tsafe Local Government Area when a fully loaded commercial trailer transporting cement reportedly drove over the device causing panic.
Residents and community leaders have called on security agencies to urgently intensify patrols, surveillance, and intelligence gathering along the busy highway to prevent further attacks.
Residents also offered prayers for the victims and appealed for lasting peace and stability in the region.
