Julius Abure And Mama P Clash on Abuja–Benin Flight
A dramatic scene unfolded on Friday aboard a Max Air flight from Abuja to Benin as Labour Party National Chairman, Julius Abure, and party chieftain, Precious Oruche, popularly known as Mama P, engaged in a heated altercation that shocked fellow passengers.
According to the Labour Party, the incident began at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, where Mama P allegedly launched an unprovoked attack on Abure while passengers queued to board. The party further alleged that the confrontation continued inside the aircraft, forcing cabin crew to step in.
Upon arrival in Benin, security operatives reportedly whisked Abure to safety while Mama P was handed over to the police for questioning. In a statement, the Labour Party condemned the incident, describing it as a “sponsored attack” by anti-democratic elements bent on destabilizing the party.
Mama P, however, has told a different story. In a viral video, she accused Abure of “selling out” the Labour Party and claimed she was the one assaulted by “Abure’s thugs” during the fracas. Her outburst has further fueled speculation about deepening divisions within the party.
Eyewitnesses confirmed heated exchanges between supporters of both sides, with reports of minor scuffles breaking out at the airport’s domestic wing. Passengers and staff looked on as the dispute threatened to spiral out of control.
As of press time, the police have not issued an official statement on the matter. The clash underscores the internal wrangling threatening the unity of the Labour Party ahead of crucial political battles
