Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has approved the appointment of Professor Chris Kwaja as his “Special Envoy ” on Peace and Security.
A statement signed On Friday by Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS) Arch. Samuel N. Jatau, explained that the appointment is with immediate effect, which aimed at strengthening the state’s Peace and Security Infrastructure.
Professor Chris Kwaja is a distinguished Nigerian academic and authority on peace and security studies.
Currently, he holds a senior lecturer and researcher position at the Centre for Peace and Security Studies, Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria.
Furthermore, he serves as a visiting research fellow at the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) in Abuja, underscoring his commitment to advancing knowledge and practice in peacebuilding, security, and governance.
With his expertise, Professor Kwaja contributes significantly to academic discourse and policy formulation in Nigeria, focusing on critical issues such as conflict resolution, security sector reform, and democratic development.
His dual affiliation with a reputable university and a prominent think tank like CDD positions him well to bridge the gap between academia and practice, informing strategies that promote peace, stability, and sustainable development in Nigeria and beyond.
