The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, on Saturday paid a courtesy visit to the Minister of Works, David Umahi, in Abakaliki after a tour of ongoing federal projects in Enugu and Ebonyi States.
Idris was accompanied by a high-powered delegation that included the Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, Bayo Onanuga, the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, Ali M. Ali, and the Directors-General of the Voice of Nigeria, Jibrin Ndace; Nigerian Television Authority, Salihu Dembos; Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, Mohammed Bulama; and National Broadcasting Commission, Charles Ebuebu.
Other members of the entourage were the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Press Council, Dili Ezughah; President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Ike Neliaku; President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Alhassan Yahaya; and President of RATTAWU, Emeka Kalu, among others.
During the tour, Idris and his team inspected several major infrastructure projects, including the Enugu-Port Harcourt Road, the dualisation of the Enugu-Abakaliki Road, and in Ebonyi, the Abakaliki-Afikpo Road, the Ebonyi sections of the Enugu-Abakaliki Road, and the Trans-Saharan Superhighway.
The minister also held town hall meetings with stakeholders in both states, where he highlighted the federal government’s commitment to infrastructure development under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
