APOSTLE JACK MAMVEN LIGHT’S SPEECH
Theme: “Protecting the Future: A United Front Against Child Trafficking”

Distinguished Guests, Royal Fathers, Government Representatives, Community Leaders, Teachers, and Students,

It is with a deep sense of purpose and urgency that I welcome you all to this gathering, convened by the Itarok Development Foundation—Nga Mpyal Itarok Movement—in commemoration of the World Day Against Human Trafficking.

Child trafficking is not just a crime. It is an attack on the soul of our nation. It is a silent war against the dreams of our children—the very future of Plateau, and indeed, of Nigeria. And today, we say: Enough is enough.

We are not gathered here to observe another date on the calendar, but to declare a collective war against this evil, to strategize, to educate, and to mobilize every corner of our society. From the traditional stool to the classroom, from immigration to our motor parks—we all have a role to play.

I deeply appreciate the presence of:

The Representative of the Comptroller of Immigration, ASI Wuyep

His Royal Highness, The Dangwom Rwei of Zawan

The State Chairman of the Macopolo and Mini Buses Associations

And most importantly, our teachers and students, who represent both the frontline and the future of this cause.

Let me remind us: a trafficked child is not just a lost soul—it is a broken community, a wounded state, and a failing system. But with collective will, we can reverse this tide.

We must build stronger communities, educate our children, tighten our security, and raise a loud voice from every village, every home, and every church:

“Our children are not for sale!”

Let this meeting mark a turning point. Let Zawan be remembered as the community that stood up and said NO to child trafficking.

May God bless our children.
May God bless Plateau State.
And may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
