The Military Pensions Board (MPB) has debunked allegations of unpaid gratuities and Security Debarment Allowance (SDA) made by members of the Coalition of Concerned Veterans (CCV), insisting that all entitlements for 2024 retirees have been fully settled.
Reacting to reports of a planned protest in Abuja, the Board described the claims as baseless and misinformed. In a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Squadron Leader Ahmed Mohammed, the MPB clarified that all retirees from the first and second quarters of 2024 have received their payments as scheduled.
“The Board wishes to clarify that all gratuities for retired personnel within the referenced periods have been settled. Any claims to the contrary are unfounded and likely based on misinformation,” the statement read.
Mohammed reiterated that the Board’s responsibility is strictly the payment of pensions and gratuities, and it has fulfilled that mandate without delay. He encouraged veterans or groups with concerns to approach the MPB directly for verification or resolution.
“We remain transparent, professional and committed to the welfare of all our ex-service personnel,” he added, assuring that the Board, under the leadership of its Chairman, AVM Abubakar Adamu, remains dedicated to upholding the welfare and dignity of all retired military personnel.
