Matawalle’s Nine Children Set for Same-Day Wedding in Abuja
Arrangements are underway for the simultaneous wedding ceremony of nine children of Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, scheduled to hold in Abuja next month.

According to details obtained by Headlineswave.ng, the weddings will take place on February 6, 2026, at the Abuja National Mosque, with the ceremony expected to commence at 1:30 p.m.
An invitation card for the event, which has circulated widely on social media in recent days, features the minister’s photograph and confirms that five sons and four daughters will be joined in marriage on the same day.

The children listed on the invitation are Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muhammad, Nana Firdausi, and Farida.
Confirming the development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris, said preparations for the event had reached an advanced stage.
“By the grace of God, the ceremony will be conducted at the Abuja National Mosque on February 6. The minister’s children getting married are five sons and four daughters,” Idris said.
He added that he is part of the planning committee and assured that all necessary arrangements are being put in place to ensure a smooth and orderly ceremony.
“As I speak to you, preparations have gone far to ensure the event holds successfully in Abuja next month,” he stated.
The planned mass wedding has since generated widespread public discussion online, with Nigerians expressing mixed reactions ranging from congratulatory messages to critical commentary, reflecting broader debates around public office, wealth, and leadership in the country.
