The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted massive consignments of illicit drugs, including 3,476kg of Canadian Loud, skunk, and hundreds of thousands of opioid pills, in a series of coordinated raids across multiple states.

In Lagos, operatives stormed an apartment in Ikoyi, recovering 32 pouches of Canadian Loud weighing 15.63kg and arresting a suspect. In Nasarawa, a major bust on August 9 led to the seizure of 3,093kg of skunk from three suspects in New Karu.

Kano operations yielded further breakthroughs, with 639 blocks of skunk weighing 359kg recovered from a suspect in Geza, Kumbotso, and another arrest along Zaria-Kano road involving 9kg of Colorado. Additional raids netted 20,000 tramadol pills and 200 diazepam ampoules from a suspect at Gadar Tamburawa.

In Gombe, NDLEA officers seized 550,266 opioid pills, mostly tramadol, on August 8, and arrested another suspect in Bajoga the following day with 50,000 tramadol capsules. Edo State operatives also intercepted a white Toyota Hiace bus from Anambra, recovering 23,940 tramadol capsules, 1,100 tablets, and 400 ampoules of pentazocine.

NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi said the agency remains committed to its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign, with sensitisation drives conducted nationwide, targeting schools, communities, religious centres, and workplaces.

He reaffirmed that the NDLEA will sustain its offensive against drug traffickers while intensifying public awareness to curb abuse.
