The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has secured the ISO 9001:2015 certification, a major milestone that affirms its compliance with international standards for quality management systems.

Announcing the achievement in Abuja, NSE President Margaret Oguntala said the certification—awarded by global inspection and certification firm Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS)—recognises the Society’s commitment to excellence across its core operations, including membership services, professional development, engineering education, and stakeholder engagement.

“This certification is a pivotal moment for us,” Oguntala stated. “It represents the dedication, collaboration, and hard work of our members and leadership in aligning our systems with world-class benchmarks.”

She noted that the ISO 9001:2015 standard would enable the NSE to further strengthen its internal processes and deliver higher-value services to its members and the broader engineering community. The achievement, she added, reflects the Society’s broader mission to empower engineers and drive national development through innovation and professionalism.

Oguntala described the certification as a launchpad for deeper transformation within the organisation, saying it would fuel ongoing efforts to promote excellence, sustainability, and global competitiveness in Nigeria’s engineering sector.

“This milestone reaffirms our resolve to continuously improve and to create a thriving engineering community that is both globally aligned and nationally impactful,” she added.
