Man Who Praised Tinubu for Ending Insecurity Reportedly Kidnapped in Ondo

A Nigerian man who previously praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for tackling insecurity has reportedly been kidnapped by gunmen in Ondo State, sparking intense reactions across social media.

The victim, identified as Joseph Kayode Aladesuyi, is the Secretary of Okeluju Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Akure North Local Government Area.

How the Abduction Happened
According to reports, gunmen abducted Aladesuyi on his farm located near the Akure Airport in the Eleyewo community of Oba-Ile.

Sources said the attackers stormed the farm and seized Aladesuyi alongside his granddaughter. Witnesses reported that the gunmen fired sporadically before forcing the victims into a nearby forest.

However, the kidnappers later released the young girl and took Aladesuyi away into the bush.

The abductors are reportedly demanding ₦100 million ransom for his release.
Previous Post Praising Tinubu Resurfaces
Following the incident, a past social media post attributed to Aladesuyi resurfaced online.

In the post, he praised President Tinubu’s leadership, claiming the government had begun reforms that would strengthen the economy and tackle corruption and insecurity.

Part of the message read:
“Tinubu used decades to build a strong political structure… removing feeding bottles from petrol and FX subsidy merchants, cutting the corruption pipeline of the NNPC and collaborating with powerful nations to end internal insecurity.”

Nigerians React

The development quickly generated heated reactions across social media platforms and forums such as Nairaland, where many users debated the irony of the situation.

While some commenters expressed sympathy for the victim and prayed for his safe return, others criticized the government’s handling of insecurity in the country.

However, several users also warned against politicizing a kidnapping case, urging Nigerians to focus on the victim’s safety rather than political arguments.

Rising Insecurity Concerns

Kidnapping for ransom remains a persistent security challenge across several parts of Nigeria, particularly in rural communities where farmers and travelers are frequently targeted by armed groups.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement regarding the incident or ongoing rescue efforts.
