Somtochukwu, fondly known as Sommie, reportedly died in the early hours of Monday, September 29, 2025, at her Katampe residence in Abuja under heartbreaking circumstances that have stirred widespread outrage.
What Really Happened
Contrary to reports that she was killed directly by armed robbers, new details reveal that Somtochukwu died while trying to escape from the robbers who invaded her apartment block.
According to a family friend who spoke with investigative journalist Temilola Sobola, the attackers went from flat to flat, dispossessing residents of their belongings. In panic, Somtochukwu attempted to flee through her window before the robbers could get to her. Sadly, she fell and sustained fatal injuries.
Shockingly, eyewitnesses allege that police officers arrived moments after her fall. Despite Somtochukwu’s pleas to be rushed to the hospital, the officers allegedly claimed their patrol vehicle had no fuel. She tragically passed away before alternative help could come.
