NDLEA uncovers new drug tricks as Lady nabbed with narcotics in butt pads

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted two suspects using bizarre concealment methods to traffic drugs ahead of the December festive season.

According to NDLEA spokesperson, Mr Femi Babafemi in a post on his X handle on Sunday morning, the suspects were arrested at major entry points in ongoing operations designed to block drug cartels seeking to exploit the “Detty December” rush.

One of the suspects, a lady, was apprehended with illicit substances neatly stashed inside specially padded underwear. NDLEA operatives uncovered the concealment following a routine check, seizing the drugs before they could enter circulation.

In a separate operation, another trafficker was caught attempting to smuggle narcotics hidden inside mobile phone chargers.

Videos released by the agency on Sunday showed the dismantled chargers containing carefully packaged substances.

Mr Babafemi said: “With the spate of ongoing arrests and seizures by @ndlea_nigeria at some major entry points, it’s obvious the race and desperation for Detty December are already in overdrive.”

He urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and avoid falling prey to traffickers or collaborators seeking to exploit the season.

The NDLEA has in recent months intensified surveillance at airports, land borders, and seaports, warning traffickers that all unconventional concealment methods will be exposed.
