A Revealing Interview on Arise TV

In a revealing interview at 8 PM last night on Arise Prime Time, hosted by seasoned journalist Charles Anazodo, Audu detailed his reasons for exiting the administration.

President Tinubu is no longer a shareholder in Nigeria’s future. Audu said firmly.

“He’s promoting political monopoly while claiming to fight against economic monopoly. That contradiction is unacceptable.” Audu said .

Audu expressed strong opposition to the continued political dominance of Nyesom Wike, a PDP figure who currently holds enormous influence in APC structures both in Abuja and Rivers State.

“How can a PDP stalwart be allowed to control APC in two critical regions? It’s a complete violation of democratic principles,” he stated.

According to Audu, President Tinubu’s backing of Wike to destabilize the PDP and other parties is part of a broader strategy to weaken the opposition — something he considers not just unethical but dangerous for Nigeria’s democratic balance.

Audu, who said he has stepped aside in good conscience, declared his intention to mobilize Nigerian youths to push back against poor leadership and political recycling.

“I’m fighting so Nigerian youths will no longer be cheated by leaders over 70 who’ve had decades to fix this country and failed.”

When asked by Charles Anazodo if he had anyone in mind to support for president since he no longer backs Tinubu, Audu replied, “Time will tell.” He added that his immediate focus is building a youth-driven political movement that will demand accountability and redefine leadership in Nigeria.

The former aide didn’t hold back criticism of the APC leadership structure. He questioned why President Tinubu has refused to replace the current APC National Chairman, a figure Audu believes was imposed, and not reflective of the North Central region’s rightful stake.

“The president doesn’t prioritize justice, and that’s why a regionally biased leadership is allowed to persist.”

Aliyu Audu’s comments signal growing internal unrest within the APC and reflect the wider discontent among young Nigerians seeking a new political direction. His call to action — especially for the youth — may well plant the seeds of a new era in the nation’s political space.

He has formed a group called APC Rebirth Movement which according him, he intends to use to reposition the party for the youths to ‘take over from the older generation.

When asked if he has been contacted by the Coalition( a group of opposition politicians working on forming an alliance to unseat the APC government in future elections), he answered in affirmative, vowing to do anything to push back bad leadership and political recycling.
