The Deputy Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, has raised alarm over the worsening security situation in Wase Local Government Area and other parts of Plateau State.

Speaking during Tuesday’s plenary session, Wase moved a motion of urgent public importance, drawing national attention to the rising wave of deadly attacks in the region.

He condemned the continuous killings and displacement of innocent citizens by bandits and armed groups operating in the affected communities.

The lawmaker warned that the situation has led to a growing humanitarian crisis, with many residents forced to flee their homes and take refuge in nearby villages and camps.

Wase called on the Nigerian Army, Police, and the Department of State Services (DSS) to immediately deploy personnel to the troubled areas to stop further attacks and restore order.

The motion was unanimously supported by members of the House, showing a united concern over the disturbing insecurity in Plateau State.

The House also urged the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to provide urgent relief materials and shelter for displaced persons.

Wase stressed the need for proper resettlement plans to help victims rebuild their lives and return to their communities in peace and dignity.

To ensure full implementation, the House mandated its Committees on Defence, Police Affairs, Interior, Emergency and Disaster Preparedness, and Legislative Compliance to monitor progress.

This motion is part of ongoing efforts to push for stronger government action in ending the violence and suffering in Plateau communities.
