President Bola Tinubu abruptly abandoned a meeting with members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) after learning they had failed to execute his directive to reinstate impeached Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.

Sources revealed to Peoples Gazette that Tinubu, upon discovering that GAC members were not aligned with his decision, dismissed the meeting and ordered them to return to Lagos to enforce his mandate.

Reports indicate that the council had attempted to propose an alternative deal, offering Obasa a senatorial ticket in 2027 in exchange for relinquishing the speakership. However, Tinubu rejected the compromise, insisting on Obasa’s immediate reinstatement.

GAC members, who traveled to Abuja for the meeting, were reportedly left waiting for hours before being informed that the president had no business with them unless they were ready to implement his directive. They were immediately sent back to Lagos to enforce his decision, sources added.
