Nollywood Makes Guinness World Records History with 51,000-person Movie Screening
Nollywood has recorded another global milestone after more than 51,000 people gathered in Lagos to watch the movie Black Market.
The screening, held at Tafawa Balewa Square, attracted a huge crowd of movie lovers and was confirmed as a Guinness World Record for the largest audience gathering for a movie screening.
The achievement was confirmed during the event, while FilmOne, distributor of the movie, also announced the record.
The feat places a major spotlight on Nigeria’s film industry and its ability to mobilise audiences on a massive scale.
