The leadership of the Plateau State Obidients Movement and the Plateau State Kwankwasiyya Movement on Saturday, June 27, held their first strategic meeting as consultations ahead of the 2027 presidential election begin to gather momentum.

The minutes of the meeting were obtained exclusively by Headlineswave.ng, providing insight into early discussions aimed at fostering cooperation between the two political movements.
According to the minutes, the meeting commenced with an opening prayer offered by a Muslim faithful, symbolizing religious tolerance and national unity. This was followed by opening remarks by one of the conveners.
Participants reportedly expressed enthusiasm over the prospect of both movements working together in synergy, stressing that Nigeria’s interest should take precedence over individual political ambitions.
The minutes indicate that one of the primary objectives of the meeting was to enable members of both groups to familiarize themselves with one another, build trust, and develop the confidence required to pursue shared political goals ahead of the 2027 general elections.
One of the notable contributions came from Elder Raphael Jachin, who reportedly expressed optimism that a political alliance involving Labour Party’s 2027 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso could reshape Nigeria’s political landscape.
According to the minutes, Jachin argued that a partnership bringing together Obi from the South-East and Kwankwaso from the North would represent a historic show of national unity capable of inspiring millions of Nigerians seeking a credible alternative in the 2027 presidential election.
Other stakeholders also made contributions, emphasizing the need for continued dialogue, strategic planning, and wider consultations before any formal political decisions are taken.
While no official coalition or endorsement emerged from the meeting, political observers believe the engagement reflects growing efforts among opposition-leaning groups to explore possible collaboration ahead of the 2027 elections.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the Plateau State Obidients Movement nor the Plateau State Kwankwasiyya Movement has issued an official communiqué on the outcome of the meeting.
