Three men have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command in connection with the armed robbery of a motorbike rider in Ughelli. The suspects, who allegedly carried out the attack at gunpoint, were tracked and apprehended by operatives of the Ughelli Area Command following credible intelligence.

The suspects have been identified as 35-year-old Henry Bernard, 39-year-old Justice Ayero, and Oho Ogbavwomera. All three are said to hail from Aladja Town in Udu Local Government Area.

Spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Tuesday in Warri. According to him, the robbery occurred on 25 August 2025, when the trio allegedly confronted a motorbike rider and forcefully took his motorcycle, which was described as a “lady’s bike”.

Edafe disclosed that following surveillance, officers successfully located and arrested the suspects. During questioning, the men reportedly admitted to the crime and subsequently led investigators to the residence of one Mr Oluwa Felix in the Owawha community.

A search of the premises yielded a number of items believed to be associated with criminal activity. Recovered from the scene were one single-barrel gun, a pair of scissors, three torchlights, two hacksaws, a small dagger, and a roll of masking tape, all discovered concealed inside a black sack.

The suspects remain in custody as police continue their investigations into the incident. Authorities have also reaffirmed their commitment to cracking down on armed robbery and related crimes in the state.
