Security Agents Allegedly Attempt to Arrest El-Rufai at Airport, Passport Seized – Aide Claims
Abuja, Nigeria – Security operatives allegedly attempted to arrest former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, upon his arrival at a Nigerian airport from Cairo on Thursday, according to his media adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye.

According to Adekeye, the former governor declined to accompany the security personnel, insisting that he would not comply without receiving a formal invitation or official documentation.
“Security agents today attempted to arrest Malam Nasir El-Rufai as he arrived on a flight from Cairo,” the statement read.
“Malam El-Rufai declined to follow them without a formal invitation. They however snatched his passport from an aide.”
The aide further alleged that the security operatives seized El-Rufai’s international passport at the airport during the encounter.
