The presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 general election, Peter Obi, has stepped up his diplomatic engagements with the international community, holding separate high-level meetings with the outgoing British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery, and the Swiss Ambassador to Nigeria, Patrick Egloff.

Obi commended Switzerland for its longstanding partnership with Nigeria, particularly in peace-building initiatives, humanitarian interventions and development programmes.
