Popular activist and social commentator has officially declared her intention to contest for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) senatorial seat in the 2027 general elections.

Yesufu made the declaration during a broadcast on her official YouTube channel, marking what many observers see as a major transition from activism into mainstream politics.

During the announcement, she disclosed that she had exited the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and aligned herself with the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), describing the move as part of her broader commitment to national development and political change.

According to her, the decision to seek elective office was driven by the need for credible leadership and active participation in governance.

“Yes, I have left the ADC and under the leadership of , I will be running for the FCT Senate seat,” she stated.

Yesufu, widely known for her outspoken views on governance, accountability and social justice, became nationally prominent during the #BringBackOurGirls campaign and later emerged as one of the vocal supporters of Obi during the 2023 presidential election.

Her declaration is expected to generate significant political discussions ahead of the 2027 polls, especially within opposition political circles and among youth-driven political movements across the country.
