Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara visited President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday evening.
The purpose of the visit was not immediately disclosed but is believed to be linked to the president’s role in restoring peace in Rivers State.
It was gathered that Fubara arrived alone at about 6:20 pm and proceeded directly to the President’s office.
Last week, Fubara, his deputy, and suspended members of the state House of Assembly were reinstated by President Tinubu following a prolonged political crisis in the state.
Nigerian NewsDirect reports that in a statewide broadcast, the governor expressed gratitude to Tinubu for intervening in the crisis and commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for his role in promoting peace in Rivers State.
