The recent meeting between Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi has stirred intense political conversations across Nigeria—especially as opposition figures consolidate under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
Where and When the Meeting Happened
Verified reports confirm that the two political heavyweights met in Abuja over the weekend, with the gathering taking place at Amaechi’s residence.
The meeting was not a one-on-one encounter alone. It included key political stakeholders such as Victor Umeh,Achike Udenwa and other opposition figures
Earlier, both men were also seen together at a closed-door strategic session held at the residence of former Senate President David Mark during the ADC convention.
Reports indicate that Obi allegedly appealed for support ahead of the primaries while Amaechi declined to step down, insisting on contesting.
The Obi–Amaechi meeting is real and politically significant, but much of what is circulating online goes beyond verified facts.
As the ADC primaries approach, expect more meetings, more alignments, and possibly sharper divisions within the opposition bloc.
