Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), acting on a tip-off, on Thursday, September 1st, successfully raided a factory in Lagos producing “skuchies,” a new psychoactive substance.
The illicit facility, located in the Caritas area of Ibeshe, Ikorodu, was found to be a hub for blending cannabis with black currant drink to produce the substance.
During the raid, NDLEA officers confiscated no fewer than 6,029 bottles of the finished product, along with 4,232 kilograms of cannabis.
The factory manager, Joy Awosika, was arrested at the scene.
Meanwhile, in a separate but related operation on the same day, another suspect, Akeem Oriola, was apprehended by NDLEA operatives in the Mushin area of Lagos. Oriola was found to be in possession of 26 kilograms of skunk.
