A combined team of police operatives and local hunters in Adamawa State has rescued a 28-year-old man abducted by suspected kidnappers in Gurin, Fufore Local Government Area.

The operation, carried out on Monday, followed credible intelligence that led security forces to a mountainous hideout in Gombi. On arrival, the kidnappers engaged the team in a gun battle but were forced to abandon their captive and flee after being overwhelmed by superior firepower.

The victim, identified as Isah Adamu, a resident of Gurin town, was rescued unharmed.

Police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, confirmed the incident, noting that the joint operation between officers attached to Gombi Divisional Headquarters and professional hunters was coordinated to dislodge the gang from their hideout.

Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, praised the operatives and hunters for their swift action, assuring residents that the command remains committed to tackling crime across the state. He further directed the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the case and intensify efforts to track down the fleeing suspects.
