United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has officially unveiled the fifth edition of its Supersavers Promo, reaffirming its commitment to expanding financial inclusion across Nigeria while supporting citizens in achieving their long-term financial aspirations through disciplined saving habits.

The nine-month initiative, themed Season of Progress, was introduced during a press conference at the UBA House, Marina, Lagos, on Friday. Scheduled to run from September 1, 2025, until May 31, 2026, the campaign seeks to reward both new and existing customers while cultivating a savings culture that equips families and individuals to plan for children’s education, home ownership, business ventures and other life goals.

Speaking at the launch, UBA’s Group Deputy Managing Director, Chukwuma Nweke, stressed the pivotal role of savings in national development, describing the bank as a partner in progress and affirming its resolve to ensure financial access for citizens across Nigeria.

“This campaign is aimed at deepening the savings culture among Nigerians,” he said. “Savings empower families and individuals to take control of their future, whether by securing quality education for their children, acquiring homes, establishing sustainable businesses or meeting urgent needs at various stages of life.

“To support these aspirations, UBA has developed a wide range of savings products designed to help people achieve both personal and collective goals while strengthening financial inclusion. Through these offerings, more Nigerians are being integrated into the formal banking sector, bridging economic divides, breaking cycles of poverty and building stronger communities.”

The Season of Progress Promo encourages customers to open Bumper Accounts with a minimum deposit of ₦5,000, qualifying them for monthly draws, with chances increasing through deposits in multiples. Other eligible products include Individual Savings Accounts, requiring deposits of ₦10,000 monthly over three consecutive months, as well as Kiddies, Teens and NextGen Accounts tailored to younger savers.

UBA’s Group Head of Retail and Digital Banking, Shamsideen Fashola, who traced the bank’s five-year journey in incentivising savings in Nigeria, described this edition of the promo as evidence of UBA’s long-term dedication to rewarding loyalty.

“Last year, in celebration of our 75th anniversary, we launched a special promotion where we rewarded thousands of customers with approximately ₦150 million in prizes,” Fashola said. “This year’s Season of Progress promotion is even more ambitious in scope and reach, reflecting our unwavering pledge to reward loyal customers who have stood by us while strategically inviting new savers to join the growing UBA family.”

He added that this season’s campaign features an innovation for dormant account holders, who can reactivate their accounts by funding them with ₦10,000 to qualify for a special monthly draw awarding ₦35,000.

The comprehensive reward package includes quarterly star prizes of ₦1 million each for 27 winners, along with additional quarterly prizes ranging from ₦500,000 to ₦10,000. There will also be monthly airtime rewards, targeted cluster draws, and special categories for NextGen, Kiddies and Teens account holders, ensuring that customers from every demographic have an opportunity to benefit.

UBA’s Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Alero Ladipo, affirmed that the promo’s core purpose extends well beyond prize giveaways, explaining that it reflects the bank’s enduring strategy to expand financial inclusion.

“We still have significant ground to cover in empowering Nigerian citizens to attain financial independence, and this promotion represents one of the ways we achieve that,” she said. “Through initiatives like this, we introduce Nigerians to safe, innovative and secure banking solutions delivered by United Bank for Africa to the highest standards.”

The bank has further broadened accessibility with a digital onboarding platform, allowing customers to open accounts instantly online without visiting a physical branch or interacting with bank staff.

To guarantee fairness and accountability, all draws will be conducted live under the supervision of regulatory bodies. UBA also plans a series of extensive nationwide activations in markets, campuses and rural communities in every state of the federation to ensure wide participation.

For full details of the Supersavers Season 5 promo or to open a qualifying account, customers can visit any UBA branch, make use of the digital onboarding platform or contact UBA’s customer service channels.
