President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after spending about four weeks in Europe on what the Presidency described as a working holiday.
The President arrived in Lagos on Tuesday evening, September 29, after departing Paris, France, earlier in the day.
His presidential aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
According to the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu chose to return through Lagos in order to honour the memory of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, a central figure in Nigeria’s democratic struggle.
Tinubu is expected to participate in activities commemorating Nigeria’s Independence Day on October 1.
Among the programmes scheduled in Lagos is the premiere of a movie celebrating the life and legacy of MKO Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.
The event is expected to hold at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos.
The President’s return comes after several weeks away from Nigeria during which he combined official engagements with his stay in Europe.

With his arrival, attention will now shift to his scheduled domestic engagements and the activities lined up for the Independence Day celebrations.
