Jerry Bako Appointed Director of All NDC Support Groups in Plateau
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Plateau State has appointed Dr Jerry Bako as Director of all Support Groups in the state, placing him in charge of coordinating the activities of the various support organisations working with the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bako’s appointment was announced at a stakeholders’ meeting involving the NDC State chairman, the State EXCO, Leadership of the Obidients movements, Kwankwsiya movements and other major support groups in Plateau on September 29, 2026.
The Diaspora group for Good Governance were also fully represented.
Accepting the responsibility, Bako acknowledged the demanding nature of the assignment but expressed confidence that the task would be successfully executed.

He called on all support groups to live up to expectations, stressing the need for commitment, coordination and a shared sense of responsibility in carrying out their roles within the NDC structure.
Bako is not new to coordinating political support structures. During the 2023 general elections, he held a similar support-group mobilisation role under the Labour Party, where he was involved in coordinating activities around the Peter Obi presidential campaign in Plateau State.
His new appointment therefore comes with previous experience in managing and coordinating support groups within a presidential campaign environment.

Speaking at the stakeholders’ meeting, NDC Plateau State Chairman, Solomon Ndam, charged members of the NDC family and the various support groups to brace up for the task ahead.
Ndam said the future of Nigeria and Plateau State would depend on the efforts of those committed to promoting the values of the party, urging the groups to remain organised, focused and committed to their responsibilities.
The chairman also emphasised the importance of cooperation among the various support organisations, as the party moves towards building a coordinated campaign structure across the state.
With Bako now responsible for all NDC support groups in Plateau State, the focus will be on strengthening coordination among the different organisations and ensuring that their activities complement the party’s wider campaign structure.
The September 29 meeting consequently marked another step in the NDC’s efforts to organise its support base in Plateau State ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
