“He didn’t know I was watching him; I saw him step into his car, they were just three, and I saw one Hilux behind him. And I don’t think I saw more than two police officers,” Moses said.
The NDC chairman added that the officers were not immediately identifiable as members of Obi’s security team, further underscoring what he described as the former governor’s simplicity.
According to Moses, he deliberately allowed Obi’s convoy to leave before departing himself so he could observe the arrangement.
He said he found the level of modesty impressive, especially considering Obi’s profile as a leading presidential contender with significant national and international recognition.
Moses argued that the scene reflected a leadership style that resonates with many Nigerians who desire public officials to embrace prudence and modest living.
“Considering the level of acceptance and respect Peter Obi enjoys both within and outside Nigeria, I found the simplicity of his movement quite remarkable,” he said.
