“If I Die Due to Your Negative Criticism, What Happens to Your Investment?” — Dr Fish Responds to Plateau Investors

Headlineswave Investigation

JOS, PLATEAU STATE — A growing dispute over delayed investment payments involving Jos-based businessman Samuel Adetunji Adebanjo, popularly known as Dr Fish, and his company, Sammadecom Nigeria Limited, has triggered fresh questions from investors and heightened public attention across Plateau State.

Headlineswave.ng’s review of publicly available information, including recent statements from Dr Fish and complaints circulating among alleged investors on social media, shows that the controversy centres primarily on delayed payments and demands from investors for clarity over when outstanding obligations will be settled.

Dr Fish has now publicly addressed the issue.

In a recent video published through the Sammadecom/Dr Fish social-media platform, the businessman responded to the criticism surrounding the payment delays and questioned what would happen to investors’ money if he were to die while the matter remained unresolved.

The remarks have since generated further discussion online.

Who is Dr Fish?

Headlineswave’s investigation found multiple recent sources identifying the businessman behind the Sammadecom brand as Samuel Adetunji Adebanjo, popularly known as Dr Fish.

The official Sammadecom Facebook presence describes Samuel Adetunji Adebanjo as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sammadecom Nigeria Limited. A March 2026 post on the company’s page carries the same identification.

A 2024 video and accompanying social-media material also identify him as Samuel Adetunji (Dr Fish).

Sammadecom’s own published material describes the company as operating across several sectors, including fish farming, transportation, media, events and investment services.

What triggered the controversy?

The immediate issue is the growing number of social-media complaints from people who say they invested through the Dr Fish/Sammadecom investment arrangement and are experiencing delays in receiving expected payments.

A September 12 report by The News Pointer similarly reported that investors had raised concerns over payment delays involving the Dr Fish investment programme.

Headlineswave has reviewed social-media discussions in which individuals identifying themselves as investors complained about outstanding payments.

However, the number of affected investors, the total amount allegedly outstanding and the precise contractual terms applicable to each investor have not been independently established by Headlineswave.

That distinction is important.

A delayed payment, by itself, does not establish that an investment business is fraudulent or failing

Dr Fish responds

Rather than ignoring the controversy, Dr Fish has released responses addressing the concerns.

In one recent video, he directly discussed the payment situation and raised the question of what would happen to investors’ funds if he died.

The statement has attracted considerable attention because investors are primarily seeking assurance that their capital and expected returns remain secure.

The Sammadecom platform has also published material in recent days referring to the uncertainty and fears among investors and the wider public, while reaffirming support for Dr Fish.

The questions investors are asking

Beyond the social-media arguments, the controversy raises legitimate questions that should be answered transparently.

Among them are:

1. How much money is currently owed to investors?

No independently verified figure has emerged from the information reviewed by Headlineswave.

2. How many investors are affected?

The social-media complaints reviewed by Headlineswave do not establish the total number.

3. What is the payment schedule?

Investors need a clear, documented timetable showing when outstanding obligations will be settled.

4. What is the underlying investment structure?

Sammadecom has publicly promoted investment opportunities connected with fish farming and managed ventures.

Investors should therefore be able to understand exactly how their money is deployed, what returns are promised, the maturity period and the circumstances under which payments may be delayed.

5. What regulatory framework governs the investment programme?

This is an especially important question whenever members of the public are invited to put money into an investment arrangement.

Headlineswave’s finding so far

At this stage, Headlineswave has not found sufficient independently verified evidence to describe Dr Fish, Sammadecom Nigeria Limited or the investment programme as a Ponzi scheme.

Neither should the complaints from investors be dismissed simply because they were made on social media.

What can be established is that there is a genuine and increasingly public dispute over delayed investment payments, and Dr Fish has responded publicly to the concerns.

The responsibility now lies with both sides to provide evidence.

Investors should be able to produce their investment agreements, payment records and agreed maturity dates, while the company should provide a transparent explanation of the delays, the amount outstanding and a realistic repayment schedule.

What happens next?

The controversy is unlikely to disappear through social-media arguments alone.

If Sammadecom can demonstrate that the delayed payments are temporary and provide investors with a credible repayment timetable, that would go a long way towards calming the situation.

Conversely, if promised payments continue to be delayed without adequate explanation or documentation, regulatory and legal questions could become increasingly difficult to avoid.

Headlineswave.ng will continue to monitor the matter and will seek responses from Dr Fish/Sammadecom Nigeria Limited, affected investors and relevant regulatory authorities before reaching any conclusion about the financial health or legality of the investment arrangement.
